Top Up TV BT Vision

Top Up TV gives subscribers the choice of over 100 programmes to watch from some of the most popular digital subscription channels, including Living, TCM, Discovery, Hallmark and Cartoon Network. Every night, a new selection of programmes is sent to the Top Up TV+ box, which are stored for seven days for the viewer to watch at their leisure. After seven days, the show will replaced with something new to watch (although you can save programmes to the box's memory if you haven't had a chance to watch it yet). Subscribers can also watch selected programmes from GOLD, UKTV Style and Eurosport during the day.

To receive Top Up TV, you'll need their own Top Up TV+ box, which cost from £90. This also acts as a personal video recorder, allowing viewers to pause and rewind live-television and easily set up recordings from the on-screen programme guide. You can customise which channels you receive programmes from and use the space you save on the unit's hard drive for more of your own recordings or saved programmes. Subscription costs £9.99/month, with an optional extra film subscription service, Picture Box, for an extra £5/month. For more information, call 08700 543210 or click here to visit their website.

BT Vision combines a Freeview box with a broadband internet connection to bring you a truly on-demand television service. Because you're connected to a phone-line, subscribers can choose from a vast library of programmes, music concerts and films which are then instantly available to watch. There's loads to choose from, from the ability to catch-up on programmes from the BBC, Channel 4 and Five to comprehensive English Premier and Football League highlights.

To receive BT Vision, you'll need to subscribe to one of BT's "Total Broadband" packages, which start from just under £9/month (although the "Home Hub" you require only comes free with the more expensive packages). Connection and installation costs £90. After that, content can be accessed on a pay-per-view or subscription basis. TV programmes cost from 79p per viewing, or you can subscribe for £9/month, for example. For more information, call 0800 9177610 or click here to visit their website.
